Aging & Disability Resource Center

In 2011, the Office for Older Adults added the ADRC, or Aging and Disability Resource Center. This program is offered under the umbrella of the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging.

We help people that are 18 and older that are disabled and people who are older adults (60 and up) with Information and Referral to any needed services, Benefits Screening and Application for needed financial assistance, and Long Term Care Options Counseling for people needing assistance creating a long term care plan for themselves or a loved one.

If you or anyone you know needs assistance in these areas, please have them contact our office at (330) 723-9514 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

Aging and Disabilities Resources Center (ADRC)

A new program to MCOOA in July of 2011 is the ADRC. This program’s focus is to empower seniors and people with disabilities (age 18 and up) with information, financial benefits and long term care options that help them to age in place and be as independent as possible. These supports allow seniors and people with disabilities to have choices in making decisions.

Information – Do you know about 211? It is a free service available by phone 24/7 that nationally gives you information in the area you are calling from. We at MCOOA have access to the same Refer Net System that 211 uses, but we also draw on local information that we have available to us. We can assist you with this service M-F from 8-4:30 pm.

Benefits – Would it help you to stretch your dollar further? We can screen people and advise them on benefits that they should apply for that could help to save them money! We can assist you in applying for these benefits. Food, utilities, and medicine are a few of the services that can be applied for to help make ends meet!

Options – Wouldn’t it be better to have options looking ahead to possible long term care? We encourage people to be proactive in planning for their future care! We can help you make a plan with community services and supports that empower you to be as independent as possible! Your independence at home for as long as possible allows you to age in place, and is a cost savings to you and the government.

We would love to come and talk to seniors and people with disabilities over 18 about this program. Please feel free to call us to book this for you!
